Nupas-Cadmatic
(NC) software is being used on a large scale by several subcontractors
to Aker Yards Oy Turku shipyard for the basic and detailed design of
machinery areas of the Royal Caribbean
“Project Genesis”, the largest cruise liner to date. It is a
good example of how NC software efficiently manages distributed design
between several design offices. Aker Yards uses NC software to manage
the concurrent design of numerous subcontractors. Cadmatic has delivered
the piping libraries and related services to the shipyard and has been
assisting the yard in managing the concurrent design.
The
shipyard has a central server which is replicated with NC software at
the different participant sites. As a result of the wide use of NC
software by Aker Yard’s subcontractors, the yard has purchased a site
licensee for the NC eBrowser at their
Turku
,
Helsinki
and Rauma yards in Finland
